Responsible for monitoring patient’s physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment.  Communicates with surgeon and certified registered nurse anesthetist continuously, and as needed, about patient conditions; receives direction for patient management.  Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS;
	*Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
	*Hold a current Registered Nursing licensure in the 
         state of Mississippi.
	*Two years nursing experience.
	*Current BCLS and ACLS certification

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician will be responsible for setting up and maintaining sterile field, assisting physicians during procedures, decontamination, and sterilizing instruments and equipment.  Must be familiar with and follow AORN/AAMI guidelines.  Other duties may include stocking operating rooms/central sterile supplies, chemicals, and linens.  Maintaining and recording daily log books for department.

Qualifications:

Certification from an accredited Surgical Technician school with minimum of two years experience (preferred).  CST Certification preferred but not required.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
