C N A - FT Day - Medical-Surgical Department
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicate clearly and appropriately to team
leader, co-workers and physicians
• Performs assigned treatment or procedures accurately
and with good technique.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge of
patients.
• Collects basic patient data as assigned such as
vital signs, oral intake, and output, etc.
• Performs direct patient care as assigned to provide
for the physical comfort of the patient, in
accordance with the nursing care plan to include
baths, passing of trays, and maintaining a safe
environment.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of patient
complaints.
• Makes observation of common changes and communicates
any changes in patient status to RN or other
appropriate staff.
• Manages and properly maintains equipment safely and
correctly.
• Provide correct and accurate documentation according
to all standards as well as policies.
• Adheres to universal precautions and other
appropriate infection control practices.
• Attends scheduled in-services and staff meetings.
• Completes annual education requirements.
• Able to adapt to change in workload or patient
assignments.
• Assists in keeping stocked supplies clean and up to
date.
• Reports malfunction equipment and safety hazards to
the appropriate staff member.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant program. Current BLS certification. A minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of related work experience is preferred.
